Dr. Eduardo Mayora

Since 1985, Eduardo Mayora has been the Firm's Managing Partner. He was lead counsel for the privatization of the national telecommunication companies and co-author of the Guatemalan Securities' Law. He is corporate counsel for financial institutions such as Citibank and IFC, as well as performing all the corporate legal work for well-known companies like Philip Morris and Banco Industrial. Mr. Mayora´s practice areas include: Capital Markets; Banking Law; Securities Exchange Law; Corporate Law; Telecommunication Law; Constitutional and Administrative Law; Tax Law and Foreign Investment Law.

He is member of the Guatemalan Bar Association, International Bar Association, and New York Bar Association.’ Previously he has been a Member of the Board of the Superintendence for Tax Administration in Guatemala, Member of the Editorial Board and columnist for the daily newspaper “Siglo Veintiuno” and Dean of the School of Law at Francisco Marroquin University, among other titles and distinctions.

Eduardo Mayora has graduated from the Universidad Rafael Landivar, Guatemala. He is a Doctor of Laws in Public and Private Law (Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona), holds a Master in Pluralist, Public and Private Law, (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona), Doctor of Laws (Universidad Francisco Marroquin, Guatemala) and Master of Laws (Common Law Studies- at Georgetown University, Washington, DC).

Sandra Castillo

Sandra has been with the firm, Mayora & Mayora, S.C., for over a decade in its Guatemala City office and is renowned for her expertise in corporate law, civil law, and mergers and acquisitions. She handles the registration processes of numerous global business entities in Guatemala and the corporate restructuring of many well-known companies in the region.

She received her law degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquín, the highest ranked university in the country, where she graduated cum laude. Sandra is consistently recognized for her legal skills, having been selected most recently by LACCA as the fourteenth highest ranked lawyer in Guatemala for corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.
